Microfluidic Neuronal Cell-Culture Device for Continuous Measurement of Neurotransmitters Upon Stimulations

We present a compartmentalized neuronal cell-culture device that provides the possibility of obtaining samples directly from the synaptic clefts. The samples are transferred to a microfluidic sensing unit designed for continuous measurement of neurotransmitters. The special design of the culture device also enables stimulating the cells both electrically and chemically.
