Indirect Fabrication of Three-Dimensional Hydrogel Constructs for Tissue Engineering Applications

We present a three-dimensional (3D) tissue-engineering construct, realized using an indirect fabrication technique. By using fused deposition modeling, and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as printed material, it is possible to fabricate a sacrificial structure that will be used to create a complex vascularized network within a hydrogel material.
