Microplatform to Identify Drug-Induced Cardiotoxicity in IPS-Derived Cardiomyocytes with Bright-Field Imaging and Machine Learning
Current drug screening methods are ineffective at detecting drug-induced cardiotoxicity. Here we present a detection method that utilizes bright field imaging and machine learning to identify cardiotoxicity in human pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes. The efficacy of this method has been compared to a control method that is based on calcium transients. The analysis of two drugs (E-4031 and verapamil) has been performed and the bright-field method was either comparable or more sensitive than the control method.
