Frequency Domain Beamformer for Point-of-Care Ultrasound Imaging System
Design of an Ultrasound Imaging System (UIS) suited for point-of-care systems poses various bottlenecks in terms of required computational power, foot print of the system, data rate for communication and others. In recent years, compressed sensing techniques are being used to solve the bottleneck of communication data rate. In this paper, authors describe one such effort by using frequency domain analog to digital conversion. Results show a significant reduction in data rate without any loss in image quality.
