Segmentation of T Cells in Fluorescence Microscopy

In the adaptive immune system Calcium (Ca2+) is acting as a fundamental on-switch with. Fluorescence microscopy is used to study the underlying mechanisms. However, liv- ing cells introduce motion, hence a precise segmentation is need- ed for subsequent analysis of (sub-)cellular Ca2+ activity. We extend a segmentation algorithm and evaluate its performance. Results indicate that robust segmentation of the cells is possible.
